Business Development Corp.

There are both Band-owned and privately owned businesses on the Onion Lake Indian Reserve. These companies provide the community with essential services. Onion Lake Enterprises is an off-reserve organization that provides Onion Lake Residents with employment in Lloydminster and surrounding area. Together, Husky Oil and Wascana Oil employ 18-20 Onion Lake residents.

Corporate Expansion

Onion Lake Cree Nation CEO Tom Chief and Director Philip Chief have restructured the executive directives of Onion Lake in an effort to facilitate and motivate the development of strategic business initiatives. Seeking corporate partnerships and alliances, the Onion Lake Executive has actively pursued strategic acquisitions and property development.
