Justice Programs
Community MediationThe service is aimed to improving communication between disputants and to help the parties reach an agreement in the dispute matter. The service has no advisory role instead it seeks to help parties to develop a shared understanding of the conflict and to work toward building a practical lasting resolution.
Court Worker Program
The Aboriginal Court Worker Program delivers services to four court points; Lloydminster, Turtleford, St. Walburg, Thunderchild and Onion Lake to both aboriginal and non-aboriginal people involved in the justice system. The Court Worker can provide information to court officials on your behalf and provide information in regard to bail, adjournment, plea’s and sentencing. Fine Option Program
The Fine option Program is an alternative to those who cannot meet the fines levied upon them by the court. It provides a suitable workplace for the offenders to work off their fines in the community
Youth Offender Program
The Youth Offender Program provides intensive supervision for medium to high risk young offenders to assist them with successful completion of probation or as an alternative to custody.
Reintegration Program
Reintegration Program was developed to provide Aboriginal communities a greater role in planning for the institutional release of membership back into their communities Alternative Measures Program
Alternative Measures Program emphasizes on the offender taking responsibility of his or her actions, while promoting empathy for the victim(s) reparation and prevention of future harm.
Youth Justice Committee
The Youth Justice committee gives young people a role in our community to address justice issues within our nation among the youth in the community. Community Support Services Worker
Support services provide support to individuals who are incarcerated, as well as act as liaisons between the board, community and the RCMP. Justice Board The Native Justice Board amalgamated in 2006 as to what we know today as the Native Justice Board. All members are Elders from Onion Lake Cree Nation and whose main intent is to revive the nation’s traditional way of life.
