Roles and Responsibilities of HR
Human Resource Department (HR) purpose is to enhance the Onion Lake Cree Nation’s (OLCN) goal in the provision of a comprehensive HR database management system; and continued development of the OLCN policy in accordance to the Occupational Health and Safety Standards, Labour Board Standards, salary grid creation per department as per skill sets and expertise, and the goal is to improve the duty to accommodate our band members through setting compliancy and standards amongst our employees across departments.
In providing essential HR services for the improvement of programs and administration, the need to create a standard and to carry out this direction as necessary. OLCN Human Resource Department provides the necessary tools and resources to all departments and various programs of the First Nation to achieve the goals and strategies as set out by the Chief and Council. The Human Resource Office has initiated several project areas to address the Functions of Government and Administration. These activities include:
Policy Review/ Employee Assistance Program
Performance Appraisals/Job Descriptions
Collection and Organization of Information
Creating an Employee Database
Contract Revision
Research Workshops and Training
Employee and Personnel Orientation
Job Creation
Development of Master Salary Grid
