WOP: Work Opportunity Program.
Intent: Within the frame work of the Federally Funded Income Assistance, First Nations have the ability to transfer Income Assistance Allowances to approved work projects which are supported by the First Nation.
The Work Opportunity Program; is intended to enhance the independence and employability for on-reserve individuals in receipt of Income Assistance by utililizing thier Income Assistance entitlement, together with funds from other resources, to create time limited on and off reserve employment experiences.
A.S.E.T: Active Support for Education and Training Strategy.
Intent: To support eligible on reserve Income Assistance clients to successfully transition from Income Assistance dependency to active participants in the labour market.
Active Measures; Activities and processes that assists an Income Assistance client to become more self-sufficient and an active participant in the labour market. Suppports can include things such as client assesssment, referral, case management and/or supporting a clilent in basic job skills development, trainging, education and job placement.
